Organic Botanic is a natural health company that strives to be not only environmentally responsible but also socially just. We are pleased to provide the latest information related to our product “Siberian Chaga Mushroom Extract”.

Siberian Chaga Mushroom Extract

Researchers at the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom published the results of a study that involved 20 healthy participants and 20 irritable bowel syndrome (IBD) patients. An extract of Chaga mushroom was introduced and the researchers ultimately concluded the Chaga mushroom extract inhibits oxidative DNA damage in lymphocytes of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is caused in part by the presence of stress and free radicals that responded positively to this extract of the Chaga mushroom.

Chaga is a fungus that can be found growing on the decaying sides of birch in the colder regions of the world. It is quite common to Siberia, parts of Northern Canada and even in parts of the United States. Chaga helps to heal lesions in the bark of these trees, and gains vital nutrients in the process that are turned into substances beneficial to the human body. This includes significant amounts of riboflavin and niacin, numerous B vitamins, flavonoids, phenols, minerals, and enzymes. It is one of the world’s densest sources of pantothenic acid, a vitamin necessary for the adrenal glands and digestive organs. Chaga is also high in calcium, zinc, iron, manganese, copper and potassium, all wild-source minerals.

Chaga has been labeled an adaptogen. This is a substance which modifies the human body’s response to stress. Researchers are finding that perhaps as much as 80% of human diseases can be traced to stress – making the intake of Chaga more valuable. Many countries have been using Chaga for decades as a powerful stress-reliever in tea, capsule and tincture forms. A growing number of medical experts are joining the public in supporting the use of organic ingredients to treat human illness over chemical pharmaceuticals.

Other sources reveal that Chaga supports a better functioning immune system, keeping it stimulated and provides other notable antiviral and antibacterial properties that prevent some viruses from fusing to the cell membrane and helping human systems ward off HIV, Influenza, Hepatitis B and more.

Siberian Chaga Extract Powder from Organic Botanic has an extract ratio of 9:1, 1kg of fresh or raw Chaga Mushrooms is equivalent to approximately 110g of extract.

Chaga mushroom extract powder has a pleasant flavour that many liken to a cross between tea and coffee and, as it can be enjoyed in exactly the same way, makes a wonderfully healthy alternative to your usual cuppa. Chaga mushroom extract powder may also be used as an additional ingredient in your choice of rawfood meals and snacks – it’s highly concentrated too, so only a tiny amount is required for a demonstrable nutrient boost.

Chaga extracts can be added to nearly anything to give you the antioxidant boost you need and deserve. Add Chaga extract to coffee, juices, mixed drinks and water. You can even add them to foods, elixirs, water, teas, tonics, smoothies, homemade ice cream and chocolate, puddings, fruit and/or vegetable juices, etc.
